Attached ADU
Expand Your Home with a Connected Living Unit
About Our Attached ADU Services
An attached ADU is built as an addition to your existing home, sharing at least one wall with the primary structure. This is an excellent option for homeowners who want to add living space without sacrificing backyard area or dealing with the higher costs of an entirely new foundation. Attached ADUs can be up to 1,000 square feet or 50% of your existing home's floor area, whichever is less, under current California law.
CCS Inc. designs attached ADUs that integrate seamlessly with your existing home's architecture while maintaining separate entrances, kitchens, and bathrooms for full independence. Our structural engineers ensure the addition meets all seismic and load requirements, and our architects create designs that look like they were always part of the original home.
Attached ADUs are often the most cost-effective new-construction ADU option because they share a wall (and sometimes utilities) with the main home, reducing foundation, roofing, and connection costs by 15-25% compared to detached units. They are especially popular on smaller lots where setback requirements make a detached unit impractical.
